Lagos developer, others in N2b Alcove Homes project

A NEW housing project that will comprise 88 housing units - the baby consortium of professionals - has taken-off with preliminary works involving site clearing and sand-filling in the Yaba area of Lagos mainland.

GlobalMix Capital Limited in partnership with Olumide Eso and Associates, an architecture firm with others, are developers for the planned project, named Alcove Homes. Access Homes, a subsidiary of Access Bank Plc, is providing funding for the project.

The estate will comprise eight blocks housing 64 units of three-bedroom apartments, each with one room boys' quarters, eight blocks housing eight units of three-bedroom penthouses, each with one room boys' quarters and four blocks housing 16 units of four-bedroom townhouses with one room boys' quarters, to occupy. All the units come with balconies and ample living spaces.

The project, according to Mr. Koya Olumide, managing director of GlobalMix Capital Limited, is unique due to its "location within Lagos metropolis, offering close proximity and easy access to most places on the island and the mainland."

Features of the estate, according to Koya, are ample parking space for residents and visitors, recreational facilities - clubhouse, swimming pool, fitted gymnasium and large children's playground. Additional features include security, electricity generators, paved walkways and children's playground.

Koya told The Guardian last week that facilities to be provided will include "heavy-duty stone paved roads, well-designed and efficient drainage, and integrated potable water supply."

The homes, according to him, "offer great value in a deceptively compact design and provide a unique investment opportunity both in rental income and opportunity for capital appreciation."

Koya said the consortium had commenced the process of perfecting land documentation with the state government and hoped this would be concluded in the next few months.

Other faces behind Alcove Homes are Asuerinme Aghodalo, Olumide Eso, Babajide Olatunde-Agbeja and Adekunle Alli.
